- PRIVACY LOCK: Contemporary Square Privacy Pocket Door Locks feature a privacy lock, allowing for interior rooms within a home to be safely secured. Specifically, this hardware features a latch with a tooth that hooks into the included strike plate to hold the door closed. From the interior, this type of pocket door lock can only be locked and unlocked via a turn button. Additionally, as a safety feature, this type of pocket door lock can be unlocked from the exterior using a coin or flathead screwdriver.
- DOOR PREPARATION: On each side of the door, mark the center of your bore hole 2-3/8" from the edge of the door. Drill a 2-1/8" diameter bore hole halfway through one side of the door. Repeat this process on the opposite side to complete the bore hole. Using a mortise chisel, create a depression measuring 2-1/4" by 1" in the edge of the door. Finally, drill a 1" diameter crossbore hole in the center of the depression to complete the preparation. For the best results, use the included template to prepare your door.
